Making better use of scarce resources by exploring all viable options and partnerships is one of the ESC of Central Ohio's highest priorities. The ESC does this in a variety of ways, often through shared purchasing consortiums or contracted services that allow school districts to provide services through a regional consortium that could not be offered economically on a local basis.

For example, many ESCs have historically provided districts with background checks and training for substitute teachers. Today, the ESC of Central Ohio provides this service, but also offers substitute staffing services at different levels including options to hire, process and schedule all substitute teachers for several districts.

By consolidating these services, the ESC is saving area districts thousands of dollars and giving school leaders more time to concentrate on other pressing issues.
